A town among the hills, probably founded during the Middle Age in a territory that had been populated since remote times. The main economic source is the footwear. The town, surrounded by soft elevations covered with vine lines and with grazing lands, rises on top of a small hill, overlooked by the Chienti river valley.
The visitVisiting Morrovalle means enjoying the atmosphere of history and modernity linked to traditional ancient rhythms. The core of the village, that maintains a typical medieval shape, is its simple and elegant square. All around it there are very interesting buildings from an architectural point of view among which there is Lazzarini Palace: it was built over the ruins of the ancient 12th century fortress and it was embellished with a neo-gothic style. Inside it there is the Pinacotheca Museum. You cannot miss the visit to the Museo internazionale del Presepio ( The Nativity international useum). Just outside the old town, there is the Chiesa dei Passionisti (The Passionists church) and the San Francis ex church, where in 1560 the Eucharistic miracle occurred. The genuineness of the gastronomic products meets with a prestigious wine production, so that Morrovalle is part of the national chain called “Città del vino” (City of wine). The several farm shops and outlets offer high quality products which testify how much this territory is hardworking.
